Wanted - Internal Mic For DS Console

My son's DS has a faulty mic, and I am struggling to locate a new one to fit into it. I don't suppose anybody has an old busted DS lying about that they could flog to me cheap or rob the Mic out of?

I believe the Mic and associated wire are common items to both the old fat console and also the new Lite version.

Thanks for having a look Slam. Some of those might just about do, but are possibly still a little on the large side. The one in the DS is only a coule of mm diameter at best.

I have actually managed to source one now from this place :

They were showing out of stock, but I mailed them and they said they had a couple left and will send one out.

Comes with the required wire already soldered on, so will make my life a lot easier. Now I am just hoping it's the mic that is pumped, and not a problem with the mainboard itself!

Bugger.

New mic arrived and it makes no difference at all. Then managed to try the original mic, which I removed, in another DS, and it is working fine. Would have tried this before ordering the replacement mic, but the "good" DS is stil under warranty and I hadn't really wanted to open it up.

So, unfortunately, it looks like a problem with the actual mainboard itself.

Change of appeal...........anybody got an old DS that the screens are busted on or something but the mainboard would be ok?
