Default Snow silliness

What's the deal with the hysteria about a few cm of snow? It seems to be getting worse every year. If you watched the news on Monday you'd think nothing else happened in the world. Is it TV executives who are too young to remember heavier snowfall? Do they just get turned on by a crisis? Do they only show news stories with the best visuals? Is everyone just desparate for a break in the wars reports and financial doom and gloom stories?

I am getting naffed off by the snow histeria.

Yesterday in work most people left as it started to snow again! I simply dont understand why so many people panic and needs to get home! Most of them sat in traffic jams for several hours!

(feeling old saying this) but.... When I was a lad every house in the street cleared the road and pavement in front of their house which kept roads open and made it much safer.

Also round here the grit bins have all been taken away so you can't even get grit and grit the street yourself!

Totally agree, it is as if the end is nigh simply because there has been a wee bit of snow.

I live not that far from Glasgow, and we haven't really had much snow at all, so personally I am praying for more. I have 2 young boys desperate to get out and build snowmen and throw snowballs - a far healthier approach than all these arse-collapsing panic merchants at the moment.

Bring it on I say!

The older I get, the deeper the snow used to be and the further I had to walk to school through it.

A good way of looking at it.

Seriously though, when I was wee it felt as if every winter at least had some snow. These days it is mass hysteria at the slightest snowfall as we hardly ever seem to get any.
